the book fair
The first time they did it, it was really something completely different, unexpected and mind boggling. After a couple of years it became a little more of a routine. Especially because of the security problems. Seems like in the beginning they used to do it in some public park. But you don't want to invite everyone and his brother, and then have some religious Moslem blow us all up. So they started doing it in protected environments. And it was hard to find a protected place that didn't lock you in and make you feel less at ease. This year, they did it in the deserted old train station, and it was definitely an improvement. A space large enough so that you could just walk around, with a place to have a beer. or a hot dog if you were so inclined. And there were a lot of books there too.
