My daily walk

It was on doctor's orders that I started taking a daily walk, usually in my immediate neighborhood, though sometimes in other parts of Jerusalem. At first, I thought I was doing it for my physical health, but I soon realized that these walks were just as important to my state of mind as they were to my physical health. As I walked, I would relax, and my thoughts would drift from subject to subject with freedom and abandon. And walking, again and again, in the same area, in the same neighborhood, I learned better to appreciate the subtleties of well known beauty; the influences of the light of day, of the hour, and of the time of the year.

In exhibiting my photos here, I hope to share the intimacy I have with the subject, and the subject is the land of Israel. As small as this country is, you have merely to take a few steps to find that with each step, the country grows in length and breadth. The more that you search it, the more you find. I have returned to places I knew and loved, and discovered new levels and new depths that had been unknown before. And as each meeting with a beloved friend is in itself a new experience, so each trip and each visit to a beloved spot in my home country, is a new experience. I invite you to join me.
