you can forget anything
though it's easier to forget
things that don't interest you.
but interesting things can be forgotten too
i've forgotten a lot of things in the last two years
not that i remember what
but i sense the holes in the whole
today
i got a beautiful gift
from one of my sons
a flash drive that is a pen too
bridging my old world with the new
and i love it even though it's new
usually, it takes me a while
to learn to love a tool.
though eventually,
i usually develop close relationships
to all my tools
and that too
doesn't belong
in this new world
i find myself living in
today
i heard that a friend of mine had died
i hadn't bothered to visit him recently
though he lives here, like me, in jerusalem
and now
it's already impossible to visit
and i regret
talked to his wife today
and it was hard to talk
maybe because of the telephone
and maybe, because he was
already dead
nothing to say
somehow, i'd supposed, hoped..
that i'd die before him
guess that when you're ready
it's hard to imagine
anyone beating you to the ground
then the living
hear good news too
